PNG EXPO2020 Team Settles in Dubai

The PNG Expo2020 Pavilion team arrived in Dubai, United Arab Emirates on 20 September 2021 and has settled in for the opening of the World Expo2020 and the Papua New Guinea Pavilion when the World’s largest Exhibition event opens for the public.
More than one million visitors are expected to pass through the gates of the pavilion each day under very tight health and security measures. Strict Covid -19 prevention measures will be exercised throughout the event with compulsory mask mandate and social distancing being fully enforced.
The PNG Pavilion Team is led by the country’s Ambassador to Belgium and EU in his Capacity as Commissioner General, H.E Mr. Joshua Kalinoe and comprises largely of female staff, including Mrs Jacinta Warakai-Manua (Deputy Commissioner General), Mrs. Beverly Piawu, (Media and IPA Lead) Ms. Daure Kiromat (Pavilion Manager), Ms Pauline Riman (TPA Lead), Ms Michelle Jerewai (DICT Lead), Ms Nerolyn Kuamugl (Media, Protocol and Accreditation Officer), Ms. Alice Kuaningi (TPA), Ms Kadara Wanu (TPA) and Ms Bagara Peter (Visa Liaison Officer) who will be supporting the team from the PNG Embassy in Brussels, Belgium.
The Finance and Admin Supervisor Ms Emily Lopili has joined the team this week together with two female officers from the environment sector; Ms Rose Alphonse (CEPA) and Rose Godana (CCDA) and an officer from National Trade Office Ms. Rozena Jackson. The PNG Business Council has also indicated to provide two female officers to assist in the pavilion.
They will be supported by several male counterparts, including Major Richard Elizah (Logistics Expert-PNGDF), Mr. Adrian Babo (Finance Officer), Mr. Joe Ande Jnr (IPA officer), Gini Gabi (TPA) and Mr. Daniel Eliudah Kautu (Digital and Webmaster).
The team met with the Country Manager and the Dubai PNG community soon after arrival and has finalized the Pavilion program. The program included a trade and investment forum commenced on the 9th of October, together with the Expo-led thematic week on Climate and Biodiversity where the Minister for Forestry, Hon. Walter Schnaubelt and officials from the PNG Ministry of Environment and Conservation who participated.
The PNG public can follow the Expo events through the PNG Expo Secretariat Virtual Conference Centre at the APEC Haus in Port Moresby.
The National Broadcasting Corporation who is the PNG Expo2020 official media partner has already started broadcasting the events through its network.
